      For additional information about education in New Jersey, visit the State of New Jersey Department of Education website. The site includes a non-user-friendly directory of public and non-public preschools as well as elementary, secondary and special education schools and official public school report cards.
       As an alternative to traditional public schools, New Jersey counties offer free charter schools, vocational and technical training schools and/or specialized magnet high schools. Look for information sessions and open houses beginning in the fall for the following school year.
